what we provide:

  • Clinical staff are paid an hourly rate for sessions conducted as well as allotted time to complete administrative tasks.

compensation:

  • Must have a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Mental Health, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a similar discipline with related coursework in clinical issues as defined by the DSM-V.
  • The ideal candidate will have completed Gottman Level 1 or 2 training, or planning to do so. 
  • Must have availability to attain and maintain a caseload that supports continuity of care and engagement in weekly supervision. Part-time caseload is 12 sessions per week. Full-time caseload is 25 sessions per week.
  • Must commit to a minimum service period to maintain ethical, quality care.
  • Must demonstrate willingness and ability to adhere to all standards of practice outlined by the APA, Illinois & Wisconsin State Licensing Boards, and other professionally relevant psychological bodies under the direction of the supervising clinician.

qualifications & requirements:


  • Work collaboratively with Lead Therapist to grow and expand couples therapy offerings.
  • Provide in person and virtual counseling services to couples dealing with problems such as communication, infidelity and affairs, issues with trust, potential of divorce, custody issues, blended family challenges, and mental illness.
  • Utilize empirical, professionally approved and appropriate methods in treating couples and providing therapeutic services.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history to identify problems, diagnoses, and service needs.
  • Utilize clinical knowledge and consultation to develop, document, and implement customized, effective treatment plans in collaboration with Lead Therapist.
  • Write timely progress notes and related documents that relate directly to the outcomes described in the treatment plan.
  • Administer clinical assessments to assess for mood disorders as indicated to assess and track symptomology for outcome measures.
  • Monitor clients' progress and compliance with the treatment plan.
  • Identify areas of risk and seek consultation for appropriate action.
  • Engage in weekly supervision with clinical supervisor for consultation, feedback, and planning.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all information obtained from clients and collateral sources, in accordance with ethical standards and HIPAA.
  • Adhere to all standards of practice outlined by the APA, Illinois & Wisconsin State Licensing Boards, and other professionally relevant psychological bodies under the direction of the supervising clinician.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:



Founded by Shemiah Derrick, Profound Peace Psychotherapy Collective is a diverse counseling practice treating clinical issues (i.e., stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief) through a relational lens. PPPC provides cognitive-based psychotherapy to individuals and families as well as Gottman Method Therapy to couples.

Who We Are


A pre-licensed or provisionally licensed counselor who has experience or wants to develop a specialty in couples therapy, primarily utilizing the Gottman Method. 

In this position, you will provide professional counseling and therapeutic services to assess, diagnose and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders and primarily with couples. This position will work directly with and be supervised by the Founder/CEO and Lead Therapist who is Level 3 Gottman Trained and has developed a couples therapy practice.
